Over the next couple thousand years, the coastal rainforests of Northern America will become submerged underwater. Species currently struggling would be forced to adapt considerably for any hopes of survival. One such creature would be the Pacific Tailed Frog, primarily recognized for the tail-like appendage of its males and mainly aquatic lifestyle. Today, the frog is small, brown and does not croak. Millenia from now, however, Pacific Tailed Frogs will have evolved into Ranaefish which stay fully underwater, and look more akin to what we would today classify as a tadpole. Its tail will stay long so that it can swim efficiently, it will keep its gills, and it will grow small legs as a remnant of its ancestors who walked on land. Ranaefish will stay close to the surface but not rise above it, as its adaptations allow it to flourish as is.
