The King Cobra lives in Asian-Rainforests. They’ve adapted by getting shorter in limited space and growing in open space. Their hood intimidates prey. They have exceptional eyesight and see movement from 330ft. The King Cobra has adapted to male combats with wrestling. They want to mate. They have an acoustic jaw. They lay their heads on ground to “hear” vibrations. King Cobras has extended cervical ribs for their hood. Special muscles called levator-costae and supracostalis-lateralis-superior lift and fan the ribs outwards. King Cobras will develop thicker scales. In savannas, there are predators with heavy bites. They will get smooth scales on the sides/bottom of the body so they can slither to escape. They also have bumpy scales on top of their bodies and heads. Lighter scales enhance camouflage. They will live near the water for food advantages. They will develop a caudal autotomy (a tail that can “fall” off.)
