My animal is the cheetah. Cheetahs live in grasslands, savannas, and in open plains of eastern and southern Africa. Their habitat is hot, grassy places where they can run fast to catch food. They have yellow fur with black spots that help them hide in the tall grass. Cheetahs have a lightweight skeleton, long legs and a flexible spine for huge strides. They have a large heart and lungs for oxygen and a long tail for balance. In the future, the places where cheetahs live might get even hotter and drier. There might be fewer trees and not as much grass because of less rain. To survive, cheetahs will have thinner fur to stay cool in the hotter weather lighter skin color, to blend in with desert sand, and bigger paws to walk in sand. They will also have sharper eyes to see prey from far away and stronger legs.
