Present:
The African grey parrots live in lowland rainforests in Africa. They eat pellets, fresh vegetables, and fruits overall. This parrot lives from 40-80 years old. This parrot is the color it is because its color helps them camouflage into their surroundings while looking for their food. They nest in a tree’s cavities.
Future:
The African Grey Parrot has been impacted by deforestation, this is how it changed. Firstly, it’s color has changed to a darker grey, this is because it needs to camouflage into shadows and darker areas to catch its prey. The parrot has also got teeth because the food it ate before is scarce so it has switched to snakes and lizards. Its tail feathers have become a predator swatter, when animals get nearby, it swings its tail to defend itself. It’s gotten bigger because it catches bigger prey. They nest in any remaining logs.
