Right now, spider monkeys have hair all over their bodies to stay warm in the cool, high canopy. In a hotter future, they might adapt to have thinner fur and special sweat glands on their palms and the tip of their tail. Built-in Cooling: Just like humans, sweating would help them stay cool as the jungle heats up. Mega-Grip: This wouldn't be "slippery" sweat. It would be a slightly sticky moisture that works with the ridges on their tail (the friction pad) to give them a super-strong grip on dry, dusty branches that might be harder to hold onto in a drier forest.
