Glass frogs live in humid, tropical climates. They get their name because their skin is transparent, so you can see their organs inside. They live in the canopies and leaves of rainforests. Their diet consists of insects, spiders, mites, and other invertebrates. In the future, it is likely that rainforests and trees will become less common, so glass frogs would adapt to living on the ground. Their skin would become more transparent, or even develop color changing qualities to help them camouflage in their environment. They lay their eggs on leaves hanging above water, so they would adapt to laying their eggs in places accessible from the ground like rocks or plants. The chytrid fungus is also a major cause of death in frogs. It grows on their skin and suffocates them, so glass frogs would develop a substance on their skin that is resistant to chytrid fungus.
