The Okapi is known as the Congolese Giraffe. Their habitat is in the forest in Africa, found in northeastern DRC. That's the only place you can see them. Okapis are shy and blend in with trees. They use trees to hide away from predators because their fur is brown like trees.
The number of Okapis will decrease because people keep on taking trees and herbs from their habitat. The forest is their hiding spot. If the trees are gone there is nothing to shelter them and grass will grow tall and long and hot because the sun’s rays are beaming on them. Okapis will become small due to the scarce food resource. They might learn how to shed their fur. They will learn how to attack and defend themselves and their families if a predator is near or attacking them. As a herd they can charge at their predators.
