The current sloth is very different from the future sloth. The current sloth climbs on trees as their method to get around and get food, they also swim around to get to different places for new food and escape predators. Sloths also have lots of fur because they are higher up and protected from the mushrooms that can cause disease that leads to fur loss. However, the future sloth climbs on the ground because of deforestation and has strong forearms from walking on them so much. The future sloth also doesn’t swim because of droughts eliminating water from their habitat. Finally, the future sloth has less fur because they come in contact with the mushrooms while on the ground. These are just a few differences in climates and habitats that can completely change the way sloths look, move, and live.
