Present
Brazilian Wandering Spiders live in the rainforest of Central and South America. Including countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. Wandering Spiders are commonly found in the dark. They can also be found in moist places like logs. Their nickname, the banana spider, is from them leaving their eggs inside bananas.
Future
Brazilian Wandering Spiders are encountering deforestation which is destroying their habitat. Urbanization causes them to seek shelter in human structures (homes, clothes, and shoe boxes), increasing human spider conflicts. These Nocturnal hunters are increasingly pushed into human-dominated areas, causing more frequent encounters in homes, cars, and notably banana shipment.
