Currently, spider monkeys live in the rainforest and eat many different kinds of fruit including mangos, guava, and palms. If fruit is absent spider monkeys feed on insects. Spider monkeys have long legs and tails that they use to swing from tree to tree using a technique called brachiation. This also helps them reach fruits. Spider monkeys' lack of external thumbs also helps spider monkeys carry out brachiation, allowing them to be more efficient. Unfortunately the careless trashing of the Earth humans continue to do is harming species which can lead to endangerment. These spider monkeys will most likely evolve to be darker in color allowing them to camouflage on the ground instead of in the trees. Their limbs will now be shorter because they will no longer need to do brachiation since those various fruits are now dead. Spider monkeys will now need to switch to eating just insects.
