The jaguar’s current habitat is the rainforest, and it consists of some of the tallest trees in the world. It also contains the longest river in the Americas, and the widest in the world, the Amazon. The Amazon rainforest contains the forest floor, where only 2% of sunlight reaches, the understory, which has the smaller shrubs, small trees, and larger plants, the canopy, which has thick dense leaves, and the emergent layer, which has some branches emerging from the canopy. The savanna would be the caraguar’s habitat. It will have long grass, few trees, pools of water, and small rivers. The caraguar would have a breeding season, spring time, around April and May. This will allow the cubs to grow strong enough to swim through the wet season. They would also lose the slight webbing in between their paws. Their legs will be used more for leaping than for swimming.
