The Mutation of Spider Monkeys

A spider monkey is a mammal that has long, thin arms with hands like hooks so that they can swing through trees. They eat fruit, flowers, bark, leaves, and small insects. They live in tropical forests of Central and South America. Due to an increase in beef products, more methane was released in the atmosphere increasing temperatures. The rainforest slowly turned into a desert climate and the spider monkeys had to mutate to survive. Those with more melanin in their skin and shorter hair survived.
