Did you know that the scientific name for the jaguar is panthera onca? Today, jaguars live in the Amazon Rainforest, a swampy and humid climate. Their main prey are capybara, caiman, and deer. Jaguars have tan fur with a black, dotted, and splotchy pattern. They are usually 5.6ft to 9ft, and weigh about 220 to 350lbs.
How would you picture a jaguar in 2000 years? Well, in the future, I picture the jaguar living in a cold, snowy biome because of another ice age. Since all of its other prey went extinct or migrated, the jaguar now hunts humans. They have gotten significantly smaller, so that their body doesn’t have to warm up so much. Jaguars now have claws like a sloth, a spiked tail, and a thick, white, coat of fur.
