Golden Poison Dart Frogs are amphibians that weigh about 28 grams and grow 1 to 2 inches long. They live for about 10 years on the Pacific coast of Colombia. They use their sticky tongues to catch food. They mostly eat ants but also eat other small insects found on the ground. They communicate using calls and body movements. Females lay eggs on the ground, and when the tadpoles hatch, they stick to the male’s back with mucus. The male carries them to pools of water in bromeliad plants. These frogs have enough poison to kill 10 humans. In 100 years, Earth may be warmer and sea levels may rise. The Golden Poison Dart Frog might live near warmer water and come onto land sometimes, like a sea turtle. There may be fewer plants and insects, so it could need to find new food sources to survive.
