The squirrel monkey

The squirrel monkey lives mainly in trees, but as climate changes the Amazon, trees are dying. Without trees squirrel monkeys have nowhere to keep shelter and will be forced to shelter on the ground increasing their danger. The first adaptation is the fur changing from brown to more orange. This will camouflage the monkey to protect it from predators. Another adaptation could be a patagium (a small flap of skin that extends between the limbs). This would help the monkey navigate around the forest easier and escape from predators faster. Larger ears are another adaptation. With rising temperatures larger ears would help the monkey radiate excess body heat more efficiently. Squirrel monkeys have flat nails, but as they won't have access to trees they will have to dig up their food, they will need sharper claws to make it easier to get their food from the ground.
