Humid tropical rainforest Poison dart frogs live in South America in humid tropical rainforests, near small water sources, leaf litter and moss-covered rocks. The daytime temperature is between 72-81 degrees Fahrenheit. In thousands of years most tropical rainforests will become marshes. Poison dart frogs will have to adapt to all of the water in marshes because humid tropical rainforests don’t have as much water as marshes do, or all of the tall grass and no trees. Poison dart frogs will have to live on lily pads and adapt to all of the water and tall grass.
