The Potoo bird’s habitat changed because of a sudden dry season and then came a little rain so it became a savanna instead of a shrubland. The rain gave way for a few trees scattered here and there, and tall grass to form. The rain every once in a while keeps the land from getting too dry. It used to be a field with trees bordering it but now it is a dry, harsh, savanna. The Potoo bird has a camel water storage to keep from being too thirsty before it has to get to water. It has been a dry season and the Potoo starts to get prepared. It makes its little nook in the tree where it sleeps, because it needs to get ready for the flood at the end. It will usually sleep in tall grass by a river or mud puddle to keep cool.
