Decay in Biomes of Apes

Orangutans are highly intelligent apes with a large size and distinctive red fur in the rainforests of South Asia. One of their proudest traits is their strengths and flexibility. However, deforestation has caused immense fragmentation and starvation. Orangutan populations have been decreasing for the past 50 years. I envisioned deforestation wiping out the food sources, habitats, and environment for the orangutan. Since bushes, trees, plants, and grasses are being cleared by human activity to build infrastructure for communities and cities. As well as providing environments for businesses to thrive. I imagined the orangutan would adapt by storing more food and slowing its metabolism due to fewer food sources. Additionally, displacement causes trees and plants to decay at an alarming rate.e I imagined the orangutan evolving longer limbs to enhance its climbing and travel across forests.
