The Blue Morpho Butterfly is an animal that lives in tropical rainforests. With the struggles of climate change, this butterfly will need to adapt to the changing environment. The Blue Morpho Butterfly has bright blue wings that, when flashed, can startle other animals. They also have a brown underside with “eyespots”, that are used to scare off predators. The brown also provides camouflage for the butterfly. I think an adaption they will need in the presence of climate change, is being able to change the color of their wings. With tropical rainforests constantly coming down, these butterflies will need to be able to blend in with what is left of their surroundings. They will also need stronger legs as ground-level animals tend to have a longer life span and these butterflies don’t live very long. These adaptations will help the Blue Morpho Butterfly survive in the future of climate change.
