The Scarlet Ibis is mainly found in tropical South America and islands of the Caribbean.Adults are usually around 22–25 inches long and weigh around 1.4 pounds.Their habitat mainly consists of waters and tropical trees, if deforestation continues to happen then their habitat could severely change. They use trees to hide themselves from predators because they are easily spotted because of their bright red feathers. In 2060 forests and trees will be completely gone if deforestation continues. They may have to adapt in many ways including having to stop eating Crustaceans which is what gives them their bright and vibrant color so that they are less visible to predators and they can hide better. They may have to migrate or go somewhere else because their main habitat will be gone. If we don’t work to save the environment and these animals they may be extinct soon.
