Sloths spend almost all of their lifetime in trees, including their almost 15 hour naps. Their diet contains leaves, twigs, and buds. As you can see their whole life revolves around their habitat. In about 30 years it is expected that most of their habitat will be gone due to climate change, forest fires, and human development. This will really affect sloths because they are highly dependent on their habitat. Sloths are already becoming extinct due to loss of food from drought. In many years they may have to grow incisors, teeth that help them eat harder foods. This is because the food they currently eat could not be available to them in the future.Another adaptation they may have to have is a change in fur color due to a new, polluted environment. They may even have to completely relocate due to lack of trees which is their only habitat.
