Pink River Dolphins live in the Amazon River’s freshwater basin. There are lots of animals and vegetation in the basin. Their bodies are strong and flexible which is perfect for the twists and turns of the river. They are apex predators in the Amazon River and eat most fish there. As soon as 2120, this area could be covered with 12 to 20 feet of water everywhere due to melting ice caps flooding the basin. The dolphins won’t be the apex predator in deeper, more dangerous water. They will hunt in larger pods for safety. The dolphins will also need to adapt to saltwater. They will develop a tail that resembles a tuna which is more powerful. They must also have larger pectoral fins so they are able to have better control. A sleeker body for better aerodynamics would also help. It would take approximately one million years to adapt.
