The Baby Black Songbird The Paradise Tanager is a songbird. It is mostly black, with a red back, a neon green head, and a blue belly. It inhabits the rainforest, mostly in South America. The species numbers are going down due to deforestation and predators. One way they could adapt to deforestation in the rainforest is their wings. Over time several species of birds in the rainforest have had wings change over the last hundreds to thousands of years. They used to be more narrow. Nowadays, they are more round and are smaller. One way they could adapt to predators would be slowly losing their beautiful colors. The bright colors are what attracts the predators to them, because they can be easily spotted. People realize that the species numbers are going down, yet are still considered “of least concern”. It would be called “The Baby Black Songbird”.
