In 1,000 years the toucan will adapt to its new surroundings. The rainforest trees will be scarce, forcing them to habitate on the ground. They will gain sharp teeth to eat new ground-dwelling prey, a larger wingspan to shield and hide them from predators, much stronger and more muscular legs to move around the ground with, and claws inside of their wings to crawl more efficiently. The toucan will be called the quadling because of its much bigger and muscular legs. They will still be able to fly, but only short distances due to the newly needed muscles. They will burrow in the ground rather than in nests.
