Toucans are birds that live in the canopy of tropical rainforests. But did you know that they can’t fly or swim very well? What if in a few centuries rainforests become swamps? I have a solution for these problems. I envision a Swampum as a toucan evolved over time. This new creature would have webbed feet to help them swim as needed. Also, their feathers would be waterproof, like ducks, so that they would not absorb the water while swimming. Their wings would be larger to prevent continuous flapping while at flight. Lastly, Swampum’s colors would be less vibrant, such as grays, greens, and browns, to help blend in with a swamp, their new habitat.
