With deforestation, the sloths don’t have the trees as their habitat anymore so they have to live life on the ground. The three-toed sloth’s first change is that the legs in the back get shorter and stronger because they will be walking more and need power for running from predators. Also their front arms get stronger for digging and they develop paws for digging underground and creating their homes which will now be underground. Their noses get longer because they will sniff around for food. They develop ears and their eyes get sharper to know when predators are approaching.
