In a thousand years if global climate change continues on its current path, the scarlet macaw might experience the following changes: The rainforest may become more sparse and drier. To adapt the coloration on the Macaw might become lighter or more pastel, to blend in with the environment more. To defend itself the beak might become bigger and stronger, while its claws might become sharper. The squawk that Macaws use currently to defend themselves from predators might become high enough so that only other macaws can hear it, and will increase in distance. The Macaw diet may change to include plants as well as nuts because fruits might become rare. Its wings may become stronger to fly longer distances since the rainforest trees are expected to be fewer and further apart.
