Today I will be writing about a popular rainforest species. Poison dart frogs. Poison dart frogs use their brightly colored skin to warn predators. These frogs are considered one of Earth's most toxic, or poisonous, species. Poisonous Dart Frogs eat ll kinds of small insects and flies. They live in the rain forests if Central and South America. The poison is called batrachotoxin. It causes paralysis and death when it enters the bloodstream. They all have patterns and dramatic colors to tell other creatures that they are poisonous and should not be eaten. The brighter the frog the more poisonous it is. A lot of frogs like to swim and be in the water, but surprisingly enough these frogs are not good swimmers. Popular foods these creatures eat are caterpillars, spiders, beetles, mites, and flies. In the future, these frogs will lose color and become skinny due to global warming.
