The colorful toucan is a very small bird with many adaptations. The toucans' bright colors help them blend in with the colorful tropical rainforest. The toucan has two forward-facing and back-facing claws on each foot to help it grip onto trees and branches. Last, they have small wings which make it hard to fly away from predators and find food. The toucan will develop some future adaptations because of the changing tropical rainforest. There might be less trees, so the toucan will have bigger wings to travel a longer distance between trees. The toucan will have webbed feet because the tropical rainforest might flood from heavy rain. Their webbed feet will help them walk on the water to search for fish to eat. The last adaptation a toucan will have a body with darker colored feathers because the tropical rainforest will eventually lose it’d colorful wonders as it gets older.
