A sloth is a unique animal that thrives in tropical rain forests. A sloth's life depends on and has adapted to life in the trees. Their arms are longer than their legs which provides them with shelter by clinging to trees. They eat leaves and twigs which makes trees more important . Due to global warming, rain forests may turn into a swamp. The sloth will require adaptations to survive in this new, damp environment. It’s fur will fade to a very dark brown and dull green to blend in with plants. From its chin to it’s upper neck will be an orange sack to help it breathe underwater for long time periods. It will grow a long forked tail with webbing to propel itself through the water. Because of these adaptations its main meal would be fish. With all of these adaptations it might have a chance of survival.
