Flying squirrels in 1000 years

My animal is the flying squirrel. The flying squirrel is a mammal that lives in the rain forest. It is mostly brown and has the unique ability to fly. The flying squirrel uses this ability to go from tree to tree without touching the ground, therefore avoiding any predators. 1000 years later the marshlands will be flooded, and global warming will heat up the earth so I think the flying squirrel will adapt to these circumstances. In my image, the flying squirrel will lose its ability to fly because there isn’t a use for that anymore. It will live and breathe in the water and become a meat-eater with blue with green dots. It will be camouflaged so fish will come near thinking the green dots are food and when they are close the squirrel will eat the fish. This is my futuristic model for the flying squirrel.
