The red eyed tree frog is an amphibian that lives near water in the rainforests. It’s a bright green frog with blue stripes, orange feet and big red eyes. It rests during the day in camouflage. If a predator tries to eat it, the red eyes flash to scare it away. At night it wakes to eat and shakes the branches to find a mate. The female hides eggs on leaves. They hatch early if there is danger. In the future, the earth is hotter, more dangerous, and most of the rainforest is gone. The tree frog has evolved. It is smaller because there is less food. It has bigger eyes. The tongue is longer to help catch faster insects. It has longer legs and bigger toes to escape predators. It’s lifespan is shorter because there is less food. The female gives live birth and carries them on her back.
