Jaguars would need to adapt to a habitat with less water, shade, trees and the lack of usual dietary supply of ordinary jaguar prey, savanna. Due to new animals the jaguar will no longer be the top predator in its area. Although jaguars might not be food, other predators and bigger animals will kill them. Savannas have mostly tan colored grass, the usual fur would be too vibrant to blend in therefore causing the fur and rosettes to mutate into a lighter brownish shade. Savannas lack fish water, and trees with strong branches, their sharp long claws won't be as needed to hunt fish (bite to kill)and climb. Length of tail is usually to support their balance when up high in a tall tree, since there are not many tall trees with strong branches, long tails won't be as needed, tails are expected to get shorter as they evolve.
