Sloth Life Through Time

Sloths live in the rainforest. They stay in the trees. They hardly ever come down to the ground because they have leaves in the trees. They swing from branch to branch to get the leaves. The leaves do not give them much energy so they are very slow and rest often. They have long claws for climbing. Algae grows on them which helps them blend in with the trees. Bugs even live on their algae, there may even be 400 bugs on one sloth. In the future, the rainforest might be a savannah. There will be few trees. Sloths will adapt by using their claws to dig a home underground. They will develop a pouch to hold the leaves they find. It can also hold their babies. They will develop night vision so they can see in the dark cave. They can be safe from predators under the ground.
