In the future, a lot of rainforests would be destroyed, dangerous bioengineered animals would exist, the earth would be dry, and oxygen would be extremely low. Monkeys rely on the rainforest because of the tropical, humid paradise. First, the monkeys can adapt to the low oxygen by removing their mitochondrial genome. Without the genome, the animal would not need to breathe, hence it would not need oxygen. Jellyfish do not need oxygen to breathe since they also do not have a mitochondrial genome. We can make the monkeys adapt by making the skin extremely furry to retain water. As they walk through, they will collect any drops of water they can find, and they would be able to drink that water after. Water would be extremely scarce in the future. The monkeys will also require extremely sharp and knife-like nails to fight off against biologically engineered animals.
