Harpy Eagles live in the Amazon rainforest! Currently, the Amazon is very lush and green. It is home to many beautiful plants and animals! It is best known for its many trees. However, the rainforest is expected to turn into a dry desert someday. If this happens, there will be fewer trees and more animals losing their homes. I also read that due to deforestation, the rainforest’s rain patterns are going to change. Harpy Eagles could adapt to these changes by having oil glands at the top of their heads to be prepared for when it rains. (Oil is not soluble; it can seal in moisture.) They could also have a less thick coat so that they can stay cool even in the desert. Lastly, they could adapt by either living underground or in cave-like structures because there will only be a few trees left.
