The Western lowland Gorilla is a type of gorilla that lives in rainforests. It currently is the smallest type of gorilla in its subspecies. They have many differences to other gorillas, for example: their brown-grey coats and auburn chests. They also have wider skulls with more pronounced brow ridges and smaller ears. Populations can be found in Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea as well as in large areas in Gabon and the Republic of Congo. As time passes and the climate they live in changes they will need to adapt and evolve. They might need to become larger to suit their needs. If they have to fight off other predators they need to be stronger. They might also need to have webbing on their hands in between their fingers. This would be to help them swim if water levels rise in future.
