The Future of Squirrel Monkeys

Squirrel Monkeys live in rainforests such as the Amazon rainforest. Lots of these rainforests have a harsh future due to deforestation. Squirrel Monkeys reside in the tall trees and rarely visit the ground, but in a future lacking trees, squirrel monkeys will have to adapt to residing on the ground. Squirrel Monkeys have brown fur which is good for camouflaging with trees, but since they will be closer to the surface, the future squirrel monkey will have a sandier colored fur. They also have long fingers for catching prey, but in the future they will have even longer fingers to dig into holes for harder to reach prey. And last, they have long tails for balancing on trees, but since they will be on the surface, they don't need as much balance, which is why the future squirrel monkey will have shorter tails.
