In thousands of years I think the amazon rainforest will be a desert wasteland. In the present, the toucan’s bright colors are used for camouflage and its beak is short and wide for getting fruit off of branches that are too fragile to support their weight and to peal the skin off of fruit. They also regulate their body temperature by changing the flow of blood to their beak. They put their beak under their wings for warmth. Soon, the toucan will have to adapt to fit the desert. First, it will change its colors for camouflage to a beige like color that will work with its new environment. Its beak will have to change to be longer and thinner to get water from cactuses without hurting itself and because it will have to change its diet from fruits to small insects.
