Electric Eel

To do this assignment (figuring out its future evolutionary line for the electric eel) we must look at the electric eel which is actually knifefish, but we see convergent evolution so I will start treating it like an eel because it practically is. In this case eels have been around for at least 43.8 million years and we see how little the body plan of an eel changed so I would say that the electric eel would most likely keep the same body plan for a couple million years too then. Second, habitat, due to how effective its electrical shock for offence and defense, it will most likely try to keep it thus staying in fresh water where its most effective. Its diet would most likely not change, staying to small fish. It would most likely stay in the habitat that it is in and might change to darker camouflage.
