My animal, the parakeet, is a colorful, small-sized parrot that lives in forests. Currently, they have thin legs that can help them jump from branch to branch. These animals will have to adapt to problems such as deforestation in the future. Because so many trees will be cut down, the parakeets’ homes will be destructed, and they will have to resort to living underground in burrows. To protect these burrows, one bird always has to be on the lookout, making sure that there is no one out to kill them. They also will have to grow larger and stronger legs so that they can be able to dig into the dirt and run away from land predators easily. In the time to come, parakeets and other species of animals may struggle to survive because all of the dangers (caused by environmental problems) they will be exposed to.
