Owing to the fact that mass deforestation may occur in the future, an ocelot’s camouflage may have to change. Because of forest degradation, forest fires will most likely occur more often. Because of this, black soot may start covering the former tropical rainforest. This is why the ocelot may become fully black, to camouflage with the soot. Another thing is air pollution. The air may be harmful to breathe in because of all of the smog. This is why the ocelot may develop natural air filters in their throats. Not only that, but because of the heat, black fur won’t work well with a hot habitat. This is why the ocelot may also develop bigger ears. These ears provide a substantial surface area of skin packed with blood vessels. This can cool off an animal. This is also why many desert animals have big ears.
