Furcifer pardalis more commonly known the panther chameleon, has a prehensile tail, lives for 2-5 years, can grow to be about 50 cm long, and most commonly resides in the canopy layer of Madagascar. I believe that in the year 2521, the panther chameleon will only grow to be about 30-40 cm long, will only live to be 1-3 years old, and will become more acquainted to life on the forest floor due to a shorter, stiffer tail. All of these negative changes will occur over time because an organism’s genetic makeup may only decrease, therefore no new genetics can be added.
