The Jaguar is the largest cat species in the New World and the third largest in the world. Due to convergent evolution, it closely resembles the leopard but is usually larger and sturdier. Jaguars are strong swimmers and climbers and require large areas of tropical rain forest and stretches of riverbank to survive. Hunting and habitat loss due to deforestation continue to threaten the survival of these marvelous cats. Since it will get hotter, these Jaguars will have less fur and spots to keep them from overheating, and they will have bigger ears to keep alert from any hunting. They will have bigger and stronger legs to run faster from the predator, and stronger paws to dig underground and stay away from the heat. The current Jaguar has a long tail to keep balance while leaping, so the future jaguar will have a smaller one, but not a significant decrease!
