Ocelots live in the rainforest in Central and South America. They sleep in trees or hollowed out logs. They eat small animals including fish. To hunt, ocelots must be able to climb trees and swim. There is deforestation in the rainforest. People say that the rainforest could turn into dry savannah. To survive, the ocelot will need to run fast and have good stamina, which means it will need longer legs, bigger lungs, and a flexible spine like a cheetah. It will need to be fast because the prey in the savannah is fast, and the ocelot will also need to be able to get away from other predators. The ocelot will need a bigger body because the prey will be much bigger than what it used to hunt. Bigger teeth and claws will help to hunt these animals too.
