The animal I chose was the spider monkey. Over the years mankind continued to cut down the rainforests. Many animals were forced to adapt to these changes in order to survive. The spider monkey is now known as Xylon and they no longer use their tails and hands to swing from trees. The Xylon monkey population barely survived these changes and they are now on the endangered species list, just the spider monkey. The rainforest is now very barren and since there are fewer trees to swing from, they had to learn how to walk in order to explore for food. They actually walk upright most of the time and their fur has gotten much darker. This helps them blend in better with the ever changing rainforest. They sleep in hollow holes in trees instead of up in the lush canopy of the rainforest they once called home.
