The Toco Toucan is a species that lives in the Amazon Rainforest. It does not migrate, has short wings and a long tail. It hops around and floats from tree to tree, but does not really fly. At the current rate of deforestation, the Toco Toucan will not have a home in the next 1000 years. Because there will be no trees, more cities and more pollution, the Toco Toucan will adapt to the new environment. He will lose his colors to blend in with buildings. His wings will become longer and tail feathers shorter so he can fly farther. He will be forced to fly to other places in search of food because the rainforest will not have any. His beak will be shorter so he can eat better and fly better. It will be stronger because he may have to open tin cans with it.
