The animal that I have chosen is the saltwater crocodile. Along with many other species around the world, the saltwater crocodiles are suffering from overfishing, deforestation, etc. One adaption, a row of slightly rounder teeth will allow them to access foods that need to be broken off, like bark or plants. This will benefit during prey shortages. Those that don't depend entirely on animal diets, and can adapt to being omnivorous will be the fittest to survival. Another adaptation could be a camouflaging body to stalk prey on land and hide from any threats. Last but not least, these saltwater crocodiles can gain the ability to breathe longer underwater to get fish and prey in the water. Because of rising sea levels, their meals could be farther from the surface. A stronger lung system will allow them to dive in the water to catch their prey more effectively and efficiently.
