Bearded Emperor Tamarins are squirrel-sized monkeys who reside in the Central and South American tropical rainforests. They spend most of their days in the canopy level of the rainforest, where the trees provide a shelter and a food source. Their diet consists mainly of nectar and fruit. If the rainforests they live in evolve into savannas, these monkeys will experience several changes. Their fur will probably grow shorter due to rising temperatures and become lighter in color so it is easier to blend into their new surroundings. They will also have to change their diet from mainly nectar and fruit to bugs and grass. They will probably make their homes in bushes and treetops.
