Currently, the Three-Toed Sloth lives in the rainforests of Central and South America. However, those rainforests are rapidly changing due to fires, rain, and drought. In the future you can expect to see rainforests with a limited amount of trees, and high flooding. This is mainly caused by the extensive amount of forest fires and natural events such as cyclones or typhoons. To adapt to the limited amount of trees, you can expect for the sloth to grow longer and stronger toes to hook on to trees, grow longer arms to grab on and swing better on the limited amount of trees, and generally get bigger because the sloth will have to compete with other animals for food. To adapt to the high waters, you can expect for the sloth to grow denser and thicker fur to protect the sloth from the high waters.
